Special JPost interview with PM Netanyahu: ‘Who turned out to be right?’
Surprisingly buoyant, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sits down with ‘the Post’ and extols policy-making based on looking at the region as it truly is, without wishful thinking.
Having now spent nearly nine years as prime minister, without a serious political challenger anywhere on the horizon, Netanyahu is a man who feels not only confident, but vindicated. He is looking out at the world with a barely suppressible I-told-you-so attitude.
Netanyahu is a leader who feels he has correctly predicted the future, often going very much against the grain to do so.
This is a common sentiment among many commentators today: Obama ‘doesn’t care about foreign policy’. However, a closer look at his presidency would reveal quite the opposite. Obama cares more about foreign policy than anything else, so long as it relates to Israel. This focus of his on Israel, moreover, is hardly benign; here too, it is quite the opposite. Indeed, this writer would submit that Obama’s intention to weaken our ally, Israel, is the central feature of his presidency.

HAPPY 66th BIRTHDAY, ISRAEL. WHAT PRESENTS ARE YOU GETTING?
The footage is old, and the quality grainy, but the message is unmistakable. A public relations video produced by the IDF Spokesperson's Unit more than 30 years ago makes the case for Israel to retain the Judea and Samaria region, from a purely military perspective, and offers a unique glimpse into a very different age, in which official Israeli government bodies were not shy of articulating the need for the Jewish state to maintain control over its Biblical heartland
As you know, a third of the entire faculty at the University of Haifa signed a statement denouncing their own university for denying an honorary PhD to Nobelist Prof. Robert Aumann because the University officials dislike his personal political opinions, which tend towards the non-PC. Aside from those signing, a minority of Haifa University faculty members from the Ultra-Left have been swamping the chat lists and the media with their own explanations of why Aumann was undeserving of the honor. After all, he holds opinions that they regard as unenlightened and bigoted. They have also been making mega noise inside the University.
You humble curmudgeon posted the following message to the entire University today to shut these varmints up:
While Israel is pre-occupied with the most stunning medical inventions and scientific developments to save human lives, including the lives of her enemies and bashers (see article below, sent to me by Dan Friedman from NYC )...and while Israelis and Jews continue to produce prodigious musical minds to enrich our spiritual lives....
some Arabs are debating on TV how to kill people by "Anal Jihad."
This dispatch contains remarks by Dan Friedman of NYC.
